With the campaign “Break from your routine and visit the Empordanet!”, the season for making authentic Empordà discoveries has kicked off. The Visit Empordanet brand and initiative, uniting the towns of La Bisbal d'Empordà, Ullastret, Corçà, Forallac i Monells, Cruïlles, and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, has been relaunched with the objective of making the essence of the Empordà – its people – known to everyone.
One “Hello!” after another can be heard on the streets of the towns, from acquaintances and strangers alike. Set foot in one of these old stone villages to enjoy the experiences that Visit Empordanet has organized to make local residents and activities known to people who are interested in discovering them. Visit artisanal workshops or take a stroll on foot, by bicycle, on horseback, or in a hot air balloon or visit a sheep farm or go climbing with your family.
The experiences are listed and updated on the visitempordanet.com website where you can also find participating accommodations – all recognized as charming establishments – and restaurants featuring tableware crafted in La Bisbal. The Visit Empordanet initiative is part of the Culture and Identity Club with the Girona Costa Brava Tourism Board, a public entity that organizes and promotes the area's cultural and tourism offerings. “This project benefits both people who visit us and locals.
It's an extraordinary way to share knowledge about the region and involve tourists in our culture as told by our people,” says Anna Sàbat, the head of Visit Empordanet. Get your hands dirty with clay, taste cupcakes, olive oil, or cheese curds, take part in a sensory textile experience, enter a sculptor or interior designer's workshop, or see the land from a bird's eye view or on foot. Many more experiences could be listed, so break from your routine and discover the activities on the website! Choosing just one won't be easy, but you'll surely want to experience everything that Visit Empordanet has to offer!
