The Bisbal castle, located in the center of La Bisbal d'Empordà, is the old episcopal palace residence of the bishops of Girona, who were lords of the city. It constitutes an extraordinary sample of the civil architecture of the Middle Ages.
At present, the castle palace forms part of the Route of the Origins of Catalonia. At the beginning of the guided tour, an audiovisual project that explains the conflict between feudal lords and their vassals in the medieval era is projected and then accessed to the noble floor.
